JCS KOSHER FOOD BANK & SAHI - Special Hessed Unit

We want to wish everyone a Happy Passover!

This month, we are donating to two organizations and hope that you will join us.

Organization #1: JCS KOSHER FOOD BANK

The Cause: Food insecurity

The Reason: There is an important tradition to give Maot Chitim, translated to "wheat money," to make sure that everyone is able to have food to celebrate the Passover holiday.

The Big Idea: The food insecurity rate in Miami is nearly 20% and even higher among homebound seniors, single parent households and those facing temporary or prolong difficult economic times. Join us in supporting the only kosher food bank in Miami-Dade County. More than 800 low-income seniors (many of which are Holocaust survivors) now receive home delivered meals, and will receive them during Passover, rather than at congregate meal sites daily.

Organization #2: SAHI - Special Hessed Unit

The Cause: Enlisting at-risk Israeli youth to help those in need

The Reason: We are supporting at-risk teens who are distributing Passover food to families in need. As stated above, there is an important tradition to give Maot Chitim, to make sure that everyone is able to have food to celebrate the Passover holiday.

The Big Idea: The SAHI program is designed to empower youth to help others. More than 1,000 teens in Israel are going to help 5,000 families in need across Israel.
